Doing business in Vietnam is also getting ever more attractive: with the recent signing of the EVFTA, both investing in and doing business with Vietnam has gotten a lot safer.

To understand your chances and options, DBAV, in collaboration with other chambers, organizes an online event series: Doing Business and Investing in Vietnam. Chris Wijnberg – Strategic Sales Director at Shire Oak International
Chris Wijnberg is Strategic Sales Director at Shire Oak International, based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He arrived in Vietnam for the first time over 3 decades ago and since has been a forefront participant in its exiting development. His activities dedicated to Vietnam include, for instance: fund manager, co-founder and director of EuroCham, country-rep of various companies, developer and general director of a high-tech biogas plant, initiator and manager of M&A transactions and most recently developer and general director of Zannier Hotels Bai San Ho.
Chris will hold a short 10-min introduction on:

Clothilde Deneve – Sales Director at Shire Oak Vietnam
Clothilde is a Sales Director at Shire Oak International, based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Shortly after its initial entry into Vietnam, she joined the company and was actively involved in the rapid market expansion and business development. Clothilde is responsible for working directly with International companies in Vietnam, identifying each factory individual’s renewable energy needs, and decarbonizing operations primarily through Solar Rooftops.
During her presentation, Clothilde will share her insights on:

2.Overview of the current situation and opportunities in Vietnam:
- Energy situation in Vietnam
- Demand for renewable energy, driven by international corporations and their supply chain

Dr. Oliver Massmann – International Attorney at Law and Certified Financial Accountant and Auditor and Partner at Duane Morris LLP.
Oliver is a Partner at Duane Morris LLP and an International Attorney at Law and a Certified Financial Accountant and Auditor. He earned his PhD in International Business Law. He has been working for 20 years as Commercial Lawyer in Vietnam and 8 years in Myanmar. The European Commission in Brussels and the EU Delegation in Hanoi has engaged him in 2021to be the lead advisor for the implementation of the EU Vietnam Free Trade Agreement for the next 2 years.

- Current Government’s policies on grid-connected and rooftop solar energy
- Direct power purchase agreement mechanism
- Investment guidelines for Dutch investors (market access, forms of investment, recommendations)
