September 30, 2025 – IBM End of Support for Maximo 7.6.1.x

What’s the Upgrade Path for Clients who haven’t migrated to MAS?

IBM has officially announced two key end-of-support dates for Maximo Asset Management 7.6.1.x:

📌 September 30, 2025 – End of Support (EOS):

 IBM will end Base Support:

  • No more fixes for critical issues (Severity 1)
  • No more proactive security patches
  • No feature upgrades or new updates
  • No support for any bundled third-party components or software for Maximo

📌 April 30, 2027 – End of Dual/Sustained Support (EODS):
If your company has already traded up to MAS licenses, you are currently receiving dual support for both 7.6.1.x and MAS. However, Sustained Support will also end in April 2027 – after that, there will be no support at all for the 7.6.1.x platform.

🎯 What should your companies do now?

✅ If you have traded up to MAS licenses but have not yet migrated to MAS Manage:
 Now is the time to build a real migration roadmap. After April 2027, your system may still run, but it will face high risks: no security updates, no IBM technical support, and non-compliance with IT requirements.

✅ If you have not yet traded up:
 You should immediately consider a commercial transition to MAS license to allow sufficient time for planning and deploying the new system.

📌 Migration roadmap proposed:

  • Assess the current system: Degree of customization, integration with other systems like ERP, Finance, SCADA, historical data, operational systems.

  • Plan the migration: Data, configurations, testing, training.

  • Phase-by-phase implementation: Start with migrating to MAS Manage while maintaining and optimizing existing integrations.

  • Operate & optimize: After completing the migration to MAS Manage, continue monitoring and improving the system, and expand into advanced capabilities such as IoT connectivity, operational monitoring (Monitor), asset health tracking (Health), predictive maintenance (Predict), and AI applications.
