AVENUE SUCCESSFULLY IMPLEMENTS AVEVA PI DATA INFRASTRUCTURE AT AJINOMOTO VIETNAM
After four months of implementation, Avenue successfully completed the project to provide hardware infrastructure and implementation services for the AVEVA PI Data Infrastructure platform (including PI Data Archive, PI Interface, PI Asset Framework, PI Vision, and PI DataLink) at Ajinomoto Vietnam.
A STEP-BY-STEP TRANSFORMATION AND DATA ORGANIZATION BASED ON BEST PRACTICES
Before the project, users primarily consolidated, monitored, and entered data using Excel. Avenue adopted a step-by-step transformation approach, gradually migrating monitoring and analytics requirements to the PI System while maintaining the ability to input data from Excel for information that had not yet been collected automatically.
The data structure was developed with reference to ISA-88 and ISA-95 standards, including naming conventions, asset hierarchy, relationships between objects, and a template-based data model. This approach ensures data consistency, simplifies management, and facilitates future expansion.
Alongside building the platform, Avenue worked closely with Ajinomoto to develop the initial dashboards and use cases, enabling users to gradually apply the PI System to their operational activities:

TRAINING AND SUPPORTING USERS
As the PI System and real-time data utilization methodology were relatively new to users, Avenue provided continuous support throughout the process, from familiarizing users with the system, organizing data, and building dashboards to utilizing PI Vision, PI Asset Framework, and PI DataLink according to practical requirements.
Training and knowledge transfer were carried out in parallel with the technical implementation, enabling users not only to operate the delivered functions and applications but also to understand how to further develop and expand the system on the PI System platform.
RESULTS AFTER IMPLEMENTATION
Following the project, Ajinomoto Vietnam has achieved
A centralized operational data platform that can be utilized by multiple departments.
A standardized and reusable data structure, Asset Templates, and dashboards.
Initial use cases supporting monitoring and production optimization.
A unified approach to data utilization, combining automatically collected data with data entered from Excel.
A user team equipped with the foundational knowledge and confidence to continue developing and expanding the system using internal resources.
