JVPC Officially Goes Live with Maximo Application Suite (MAS) Upgrade

The upgraded IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS), transitioned from Maximo 7.6.1.x, has officially gone live at Japan Vietnam Petroleum Co., Ltd. (JVPC).
This marks the first MAS Upgrade project in Vietnam’s Oil & Gas industry, and also the first MAS Upgrade implemented for a company cooperating with PetroVietnam.

For JVPC, upgrading to MAS is more than a version update. It represents a strategic shift in asset management, building a more flexible, scalable platform that is ready for future enhancements—especially suited to offshore operating environments.

🔧 Challenges & Approach
The project addressed key offshore challenges, including data transmission between offshore platforms and onshore systems, as well as system stability on a new architecture. Avenue focused on configurations aligned with real operational conditions, ensuring stable data synchronization, reduced latency, and sustained performance after the upgrade.

📌 Key Outcomes

  • The system went live ahead of schedule, before the end of 2025

  • Stable operation achieved quickly, without disruption to offshore maintenance and production activities

  • JVPC is now ready for the next phase, including advanced Asset Performance Management (APM) capabilities

💡 Value from Real Experience
This JVPC project is also the third MAS project delivered by Avenue in Vietnam and the first MAS Upgrade in the Oil & Gas sector. The experience gained—from offshore operations to MAS upgrade execution—provides a strong foundation for delivering future large-scale, complex MAS Upgrade projects in the energy sector.
