The company is based in Quang Ngai, Vietnam. Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical operates as a subsidiary of Vietnam Oil and Gas Corp.

Business Need:

Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Co., Ltd. needed an asset management system to manage information on thousands of pieces of equipment at its Dung Quat refinery. Specifically, the company needed to manage repair history information, maintenance costs, and several asset performance indicators and specifications. In addition, the organization needed a view of all maintenance activities that cover the entire plant while strictly following its maintenance philosophy.

Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical also needed to align with international standards on enterprise asset management systems. Last, the company needed an automated system that could facilitate streamlined and integrated processes for work management, inventory and procurement management to ensure the supply chain and fully support maintenance activities around the clock.

Solution:

Binh Son Refining engaged IBM Premier Business Partner Avenue Business Solutions to implement a suite of IBM Maximo software to meet the needs of the Dung Quat refinery.

The client implemented IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.5 software to manage assets and visualize integrated work procedures, from maintenance and operating demands to the supply chain and vendor performance management. The company also installed IBM Maximo for Oil and Gas V7.5 software to automate lifecycle processes for the chemical supply chain. Then, the organization installed IBM Maximo Adapter for Primavera V7.5 software to maximize project management utilization and work order planning.
